Saddle up safely!

march 23, 2024

Howdy cowboys, cowgirls, and cowtheys! The countdown is on, and we're buzzing with excitement to see you all. While we're all about letting loose and getting rowdy, it's crucial to keep safety center stage. So, kick back, relax, and let's talk about how to stay safe, hydrated, and keep the party going without burning the midnight oil too hard.

1. Hydrate & Drink Responsibly
The desert sun may be hot, but at least we’ve got good ‘ol H20. Water, water, water – it's your trusty sidekick for the weekend. Bring a reusable water bottle and make it your festival fashion statement. There are water stations throughout the site, so fill 'er up regularly. Remember, if you're hitting the dance floor or basking in the sunshine, drink even more H2O. Coconut water and sports drinks can also help replenish those electrolytes and keep you feeling as fresh as a morning breeze.

2. Seek Shade &: Dodge the Desert Sun
While we love a good lizarding moment, it's essential to give yourself a break from those rays. Seek shade during the hottest parts of the day, don your favorite cowboy hat, and lather on that sunscreen. Trust us, you'll be thankful when you're still rocking out on the last night without feeling like a tumbleweed caught in a dust storm.
3. Pace Yourself & find moments of rest

We get it – the music is electric, the vibes are vibing, and the dance floor is calling your name. But remember, the Disco Rodeo is a marathon, not a sprint. Pace yourself, partner. Take breaks, catch your breath, and save some energy for the late-night hoedowns. You'll appreciate the sunrise even more when you're not running on fumes.

4. Have your friends back
In the spirit of community and looking out for one another, embrace the buddy system. Check in with your comrades regularly, especially if you decide to explore different parts of the festival. Knowing your friends are safe and sound lets you focus on having a rootin'-tootin' good time.

5. Mind Your Munchies
Dancing up a storm can work up an appetite. Nourish your body with a balanced intake of calories and nutrients. Keep snacks on hand to keep your energy levels high and avoid feeling as shaky as a tumbleweed in the wind.

6. Boots Off, Eyes Open: Avoid Potential Hazards
Make sure your eyes are open to any potential obstacles. Bring a flashlight or headlamp and extra batteries. Bring a portable charger for your cellphone if you have one. Keep an eye out for any snakes or scorpions, and don’t put your boots on without shaking them out. Keep your tent closed when you are not in it so you don’t wake up with any new friends. Let's keep the stomping on the dance floor, not on any critters. Stay on marked paths and don’t disrupt the desert crust.
Remember, Disco Rodeo is all about creating lasting memories in a sustainable way. By embracing these tips, you'll be riding high, staying hydrated, and partying responsibly.

Giddy up yeehaw! 🤠🌵
